Flat feet can cause discomfort, pain, and even long-term complications if left untreated.

HyProCure surgery is a minimally invasive procedure designed to correct misaligned feet and provide lasting relief. Hypocure is indicated for a flexible flatfoot, in which the patient’s arch of the foot can be corrected and positioned in the straight/correct position.

What is HyProCure Surgery?

HyProCure is a small titanium stent that is inserted into the sinus tarsi—a naturally occurring space in the foot. This stent stabilizes the foot, realigns the ankle, and helps restore natural foot function. Unlike traditional flatfoot surgeries, HyProCure does not involve cutting or fusing bones, making it a preferred option for some patients.

The HyProCure  procedure is normally performed under general anaesthesia in a day hospital setting. It can be performed on both children and adults and if required, the HyProCure implant can be removed via a small incision. Patients will wear a protective surgical boot for a few weeks to allow for adequate healing.

Benefits of HyProCure Surgery

  • Minimally Invasive: The procedure requires only a small incision and takes less than 30 minutes.
  • Quick Recovery: Patients can walk immediately after surgery
  • Permanent Solution: Unlike orthotics or temporary treatments, HyProCure can provide a long-term solution for flexible flatfoot-related pain/problems.
  • Pain Relief: Patients experience significant reduction in foot, ankle, knee, and even back pain.
  • Improved Mobility: Realigning the foot enhances balance and walking efficiency.

Who is a Candidate for HyProCure?

HyProCure is ideal for individuals with:

  • Persistent foot or ankle pain due to misalignment
  • Flexible flat feet (not rigid or arthritic) – this procedure is not appropriate/suitable for all types of flat feet. A decision will be made by Dr Kak during your initial consultation to know if you will be suitable or not.
  • Previous unsuccessful treatments with orthotics or physical therapy
  • No severe ligament damage or neuromuscular conditions
  • How long does HyProCure last? Once the HyProCure is implanted, it is designed to remain there permanently
